VIGNERONS DES CRUS DU BEAUJOLAIS / Beaujolais, France

2663

Founded in 1929, Vignerons des Crus du Beaujolais is a well respected collective of growers.   Ethos here is in sustainable vineyard management, with some excellent old-vine resources rendering some cut-above Beaujolais at all levels.  Stylistically, the wines well balance Gamay’s pretty florals and juiciness, against the more more serious and structured personalities of some Beaujolais.

  • Vignerons des Crus du Beaujolais Morgon 2021

    $ 45.00 incl. GST

    From vines of over 49 years of age, the Morgon contrasts to the producer’s other cuvees, grown on schist rather than granite soils.  The wine sees semi-carbonic maceration of 10-12 days and is raised entirely in stainless steel.

    Intense purple in colour, plenty of Morgon muscle here – black fruits, allspice and the tiniest hint of liquorice.  Great length and a decent column of mid-palate tannin making this a great match for stews, game bird and traditional hearty French cuisine.
