Hervé Longefay is a Burgundy negociant, working with a wide range of styles and vineyards. The producer’s scope reaches wider into other French regions; our introduction was via a beautifully complete Sancerre (Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc).
Burgundy necogicant Hervé Longefay works with several Sancerre growers to craft the ‘perfect’ Sancerre by blending several terroirs/soil types. Each gives its own component – acidity from Caillottes, structure from Terre Blanche and minerality from Silex. Suffice to say, Sauvignon Blanc at its finest, a cohesive and expressive wine. Zingy and grassy with lemon, lime, elderflower and green fruits, a decent bit of body, and great length of finish.
