Domaine D’Eole Coteaux D’Aix-En-Provence Rosé 2023
$ 48.00 incl. GST
Description
60% Grenache blended with Cinsault, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cournoise
Another solid release – vinous, long, sappy, gastronomic, as ever a masterclass in refreshing complexity. Peaches, apricots, red currants and blood orange flavours give plenty of fruit presence, with bittering and savoury elements of citrus rind, saffron, botanical and Provence herbs. Retains its defining hallmark of amazing length brushed with a little fruit tannin and a creamy element on the finish. A superb food wine, able to stand up to robust cuisine.
“Classic style. Raspberry, peach ice tea, tangerine, a bit stony. Soft, balanced, fleshy, some pink grapefruit, light chalky grip, good length. Lovely. It’s pretty much textbook Provence rosé, and you couldn’t really ask for more within the parameters of this style of wine.” 94 points, Gary Walsh, Winefront

Domaine D’Eole / Coteaux D’Aix-En-Provence
One Of Provence’S Most Highly Regarded Estates
Domaine d’Eole was founded in 1992 and purchased in 1996 by French financier Christian Raymont. German viticulturalist Matthias Wimmer was employed the same year and is retained to this day. Situated in Eygalières at the base of the dramatic Alpilles mountain range, the combination of high sunlight hours, well drained limestone soils and mistral wind is an ideal combination for the practice of organic viticulture, with the estate certified since 1996.
The house style is of complexity beyond regional norms, the minimal intervention wines detailed and energetic. Domaine d’Eole is an excellent representative of the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation, with these wines often weightier and more acid driven due to the continental climate influences.
