Zlati Grič is situated in the wine growing area Škalce, in the region of Slovenian Styria (Štajerska), on the southern tip of the Pohorje mountain range. For centuries vineyards here have been a part of the local landscape. Specific micro-climatic conditions, the terroir, and altitude form a favourable mix for growing fresh, aromatic, and elegant wines.

    $ 28.00 incl. GST

    100% Blaufrankisch, grown on clay and marl soils of Lower Styria.  A pleasing Provençal iteration, given our rosé focus we’re stoked to have sourced a high quality Slovenian pink, especially at this pricing.  11% alcohol, just over 5 grams residual sugar (Côtes de Provence is allowed 4 grams max), bursting with a generous fruit palate of redskins and musk sticks, strawberries and raspberries.  Its finish is wrapped up with some thyme herb giving savoury complexity.  Vibrant and super guzzlable, an absolute cracker rosé.

    “It’s a great expression of paler, subtle rose with just enough red berry flavour, perfumed talc complexity, licks of green herb and a faint wet slate-like mineral character. It holds a little residual sugar so the finish does feel a touch slippery, a pretty fruitiness is also lingering with each sip. Super pleasing, summery style, fun, good drink. Recommended.” 89 points, Mike Bennie, Winefront.
