Well Priced Wines Of Genuine Character – One Winemaker’S Mission

Hugh and Jane Faulkner fell in love with a vineyard, situated on the foothills of the Masif des Maures, in the centre of the Var, and settled at the property in 1989. Their eldest son Julian would eventually take over the running of the vineyard in 2000. A shrewd wine businessman and talented vigneron, Julian established the Jules label with the mission to craft delicious, accessible, and great value wines with single estate personality. • Jules IGP Mediterranée Rose 2024

    $ 24.00 incl. GST

    Pure Provence in style, this is a great all-occasions wine, and a first rate introduction to French rosé. Made and priced to over-deliver, the 12th consecutive vintage we’ve imported.

    “I’m writing this in June, and while you can drink rosato any time of the year, I think this will be better sometime around November/December as it settles into bottle. Importer: Felixir

    “There’s some banana lolly smells which should settle with a little more time in bottle, pear, white peach and strawberry. It has some juiciness, a smattering of dried herb and pink grapefruit, a light chalky texture, balanced acidity with a finish of solid length. Nice wine. Easy to get into.” 90 points, Gary Walsh, Winefront

  • Jules IGP Mediterranée Red 2020

    $ 26.00 incl. GST

    A blend of Grenache, Marselan and Petit Verdot, raised without any oak.  A fresh style from Provence but plenty of appeal to Bordeaux and Rhone fans alike.  Blue fruits, rose petals, garrigue/saltbush herbs, and lovely pinpoint fine tannins. Rosé justifiably takes the thunder in Provence but this serves as a reminder of how good the reds of the region are also.
