A new Bordeaux producer for us, we’re stoked to have finally nailed entry level Bordeaux that actually taste like Bordeaux and are delicious to boot. Blended from vineyards across the appellation, both wines are a superb introduction to the Bordeaux style, delivering a classic expression of the region and delicious to boot.
Baron Leopold Bordeaux red 2018$ 23.00 incl. GST
42% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc. Simply, the quintessential and classic Bordeaux drinking experience. Black, curranty fruits, green tobacco, a little leafiness, and a beautiful profile of grainy, gravelly tannin. The Franc element gives some lovely aromatic lift; an elegant and savoury claret for easy enjoyment, on its own or with just about any classic French dish.
Winter 2021 Mixed Dozenincl. GST
Leaning towards reds here, we’re running the spectrum from juiciness courtesy of 22 Degree Halo, to mid week quaffers in Baron Léopold’s delicious Bordeaux red. We’ve some bright Italian flavours through Insieme Primitivo, Intrigo Negroamaro and Greenstone’s excellent 2017 Sangiovese release, plus a couple of lovely fireside contenders in Schwarz Meta Shiraz and Lenton Brae Lady Douglas Cabernet.
The occasional moment calls for something other than red, so a Montfin rosé is perfect for when you’re eating spicy, and the Brackenwood Riesling and Lenton Brae Chardonnay both nicely textured and not out of place in these cooler months.
Full price of this dozen is $330. We’re offering it at $265 with free delivery, a saving of 20%.
