Fine boned rosé from the beautiful island of Corsica
The Fazi vineyard is situated on the sandy east coast of Corsica and is planted to the indigenous variety of Sciaccarellu as well as Merlot, Grenache and Cinsault. Established by Vincent Fazi in the 1970s, this vineyard produces only rosé wines.
DOMAINE FAZI IGP ÎLE DE BEAUTÉ ROSÉ 2016
35% Sciacarrellu, 30% Merlot, 25% Grenache, 10% Cinsault. Screwcap.
A sound introduction to Corsican rosé, this showcases the island’s more rocky and chiselled take on the style (relative to Provence). Tight, tense, saline, with pink grapefruit and watermelon and citrus rind, it’s underpinned with granitic minerals and bone dry. The international varieties in the blend give a little more generosity around its fine, lean feel - only 12% alcohol. Sophisticated IGP wine.
